Tammy Shum, Soprano

Tammy Shum, currently a year three music student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, majors in voice under the tutelage of soprano Ms. Margaret Yim. She started her music training as a violinist and studied violin with Ms. Amelia Chan. She has obtained the Trinity ATCL Singing Recital with distinction, and was awarded the Hong Kong Children’s Choir Music Scholarship and Chung Chi Music Scholarship in 2020.

Tammy is passionate about vocal performance and has appeared as Susanna in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro in Maurizio’s Opera Production, and Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte of Chung Chi Choir’s Opera Scenes Production. She was featured as soloist in Camille Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël and Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy with the Chung Chi Choir. She is an award-winner in various music competitions, including the Osaka International Music Competition, the Hong Kong International Youth Performance Arts Festival and the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival.

Tammy has experienced musical exchange in various countries with the Good Hope School Choir. She is now a member of the Opera Hong Kong Chorus and has sung in the production of Cavalleria Rusticana & Pagliacci.

Esther Tsang, Piano
Esther Tsang is currently a year one music student at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She now studies under the tutelage of Dr. Mary Wu as a piano major, while minoring organ with Dr. Anne Lam.
Tsang was awarded the championship of the four-hand piano class in the final round of St. Cecilia International Music Competition (2019), championship of Hong Kong Music Talent (2019), and the 1st runner-up of Macao Asia Pacific Youth Piano Competition (2019). Tsang also performed in Hong Kong Disneyland (2015) and in My Hong Kong Dream Concert (2015) (2016).

Waisy Yu, Soprano
Waisy Yu is pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Music at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She started studying voice in 2016 under renowned Soprano Miss Alison Lau and currently under the tutelage of Miss Margaret Yim. Under Miss Yim’s guidance, Waisy made her debut as the Countess in the Young Singers Summer Opera Festival 2019, organised by Maurizio's Opera. In 2018, she participated in the K.Wah Opera Hong Kong Summer School and performed as the Queen of Night in Mozart’s Magic Flute in 2018. Waisy also performed with Bel Canto Singers Ensemble in the Happy Prince and the Other Wiseman, performing as Slave girl. She was awarded the Second Place in Vocal Open Class in the HKYPAF of the 7th Hong Kong International Youth Performance Arts Festival 2019. Recently, Waisy attended materclasses by Mr. Gregory Massingham and Dr. Allen Henderson.

Enthusiastic for choral singing, she attended a choral conducting masterclass under the tutelage of Mr. Jimmy Chiang, the conductor of Vienna Boys’ Choir. Waisy actively participates in various choirs including Die Konzertisten, Hong Kong Philharmonic Chorus, and Aqua Voice. In 2019, she performed Berlioz’s Lelio in the 47th Hong Kong Arts Festival with Die Konzertisten under the baton of renowned conductor Maxime Pascal. Other notable performances include Bruckner’s Mass in E minor, John Rutter’s Gloria, Vivaldi’s Gloria with Die Konzertisten, as well as Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda with Musica Viva Opera Chorus.
