Lok Sam Au-Yeung, Soprano saxophone
A budding Hong-Kong-born saxophonist, Sam Au-Yeung began learning the saxophone at six. As the first music student being awarded the D.H. Chen Foundation Scholarship, Sam is currently pursuing his year two undergraduate study in music at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He is majoring in saxophone under the tutelage of Mr. Michael Campbell (Former bass clarinetist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra) and Mr. Jacky Leung. Sam achieved Dean’s list during the first year under the scholarship offered by Kowloon Motor Bus Co. (KMB). He is also an orchestral performer in the Music Children Foundation, and one of the saxophonists in the Hong Kong Chamber Wind Philharmonia. A recipient of a full scholarship in 2018, he was selected to represent the Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association to participate in the European Youth Summer Music Camp (EYSM) at St Catherine’s School, Surrey in the United Kingdom, performing as saxophone soloist in the Glazunov’s Saxophone Concerto at the grand finale. He has humbly won numerous prizes and recognitions including the Saxophone Licentiate Trinity College London diploma (LTCL) with distinction (scoring 94/100) in the same year.


Graduated from the TWGHs Wong Fut Nam College, Sam has been both the chairman and leader of the school senior band in 2017-2018. In 2017, Sam was the winner of the 69th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival in the Senior Alto Saxophone Competition and was interviewed by RTHK Radio 4 on 14th October. In 2018, Sam won the championship in the 70th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival in the open class 'Parsons Music Scholarship for Wind, Brass and Percussion Instruments'. The following year, he gave a solo performance at the 71st Hong Kong Schools Music Festival Opening Reception and performed the Glazunov Saxophone Concerto under the baton of Mr. Gerard Salonga with the Hong Kong Philharmonic in a concert titled ‘A Musical Encounter with HK Phil-Fundraising concert 2019’. In 2020, Sam was the First Prize winner in the 2020 Grand Prize Virtuoso ‘Salzburg’ International Competition. This year, Sam is the Second Prize winner in the 10th “Cittá di Massa” International Competition.

Leung So Wai, Tenor saxophone
Leung So Wai is a Year 4 student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Leung has played the Saxophone for 9 years and studied under the tutelage of Miss Shuk-Ying Tong, Mr. Jefferey Chan, Dr. Tak-Chiu Wong and Prof. Alexandre Doisy. Leung participated in masterclasses by Prof. Jean-Yves Fourmeau, Prof. Joseph Lallo, Prof. Nicolas Arsenijevic, Prof. Nobuya Sugawa, Prof. Otis Murphy, and Prof. Timothy McAllister. She participated in different music festivals including the Hamamatsu International Wind Instruments Academy & Festival and Asia Pacific Saxophone Academy. As an experienced chamber ensemble player, Leung performed with Hong Kong Youth Festival Symphonic Band, Hong Kong Baptist University Wind Symphony, Chung Chi Wind Orchestra, HKBU Saxophone Ensemble and La Sax.

Lam Wing Sum, Baritone Saxophone

Lam Wing Sum Melody is currently a year three music student at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in saxophone under the tutelage of Dr. Jennifer To. Lam was a member of The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts Junior Music Program. She was also the principal saxophonist of Diocesan Girls’ School Wind Band. She achieved a LTCL Recital Diploma in Saxophone performance at Trinity College with distinction in 2016. In 2017, Lam participated in the Summer Saxophone Academy held by Indiana University Jacob School of Music. Lam is currently a member of CUHK Chung Chi Wind Orchestra.

 

Tsz Hin Myron Wan, Alto Saxophone
Wan Tsz Hin Myron is a year one music student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in saxophone under the tutelage of Mr. Michael Campbell. He studied saxophone with Mr. Jeffrey Chan as well.
 
As a versatile music enthusiast, Wan currently performs as baritone saxophonist in the Chung Chi Wind Orchestra and percussionist in the CUHK Music Department Chinese Orchestra. He is also studying recorder with Miss Louisa Man.
 
Wan participated and was awarded in various competitions, including the recorder solo, duet, quartet, and saxophone solo section of the Hong Kong School Music Festival and diploma recorder section of Hong Kong Students Open Music Competition. He also participated in Timothy Mcallister Saxophone Masterclass in 2018.
