Voice
Melody Leung, a student of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, is pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Music. She is learning voice under the renowned soprano Ms. Rao Lan. She started her music training as a pianist at the age of five. She had been a junior flute student, studying with Dr. Emily Lin, at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts since she was nine. She received full scholarship later as a junior voice student, studying with Dr. Melody Sze Siu Wan. She has obtained the DipABRSM for piano as well as ATCL for flute and voice during her studies at St. Stephen’s Girls’ College. She also achieved distinction in ABRSM Grade 8 Organ under the tutelage of Ms. Wendy Yuen. She attended a master class and received training from Douglas Lawrence at Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Melody has also won top prizes in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, including the Miss Barbara Fei Vocal Solo Prize.
Melody has been an active performing singer in various kinds of opera prodcutions and musicals, such as Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte as Pamina, being invited by St. Paul’s Colege to perform in the 160th Anniversary Concert and as the leading role in the musical Godspell. She performed as a soloist at the open day of Government House. She also performed principle role in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro as Susanna and received training from Mr. Gong Dong Jian vocal masterclass. She also received vocal training with Prof. Claudia Visca at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien during 2017 Summer.
